Pupdates Dog Walking FAQ
Attracting and retaining the best quality employees to care for your pets is an extremely difficult and costly process and to ensure we’re able to maintain a positive and consistent working experience for your pup and our team members, it’s extremely important that we have consistent commitments from both our clients and team. We genuinely appreciate and thank you for your understanding.
How much notice do you need to cancel or change my fixed schedule?
As walk schedules and available spots are confirmed a month in advance, we require 30 days notice for cancellations. If however, there is already a pup waiting for an available spot that can take your place right away, we will do our best to accommodate the switch as quickly as possible and provide a pro-rated refund for the remaining month.
How many pups will my dog walk with?
The number of pups in a group is dependent on the type of walk and specific route on any given day, however on-leash groups have a maximum of 3 pups at any given time, and off-leash groups can be between 4-6 pups depending on the day.
Our goal is for packs to be consistent from week to week to maximize your pup’s comfort and familiarity with their walking pals and BFF team members.
Private walks are always one-on-one with your walker.
How much will this cost?
Pricing is based on the type of walk, and number of days/week your pup is walking, with discounts provided as the number of walks/week increases.
A comprehensive list of pricing options can be found on the pupdates.org website here.
How do I pay?
To qualify for the most competitive price options we require all clients to have a valid credit card on file. This process allows us to maximize our efficiency and the savings from these gains have been passed directly back to those clients opting to participate in the fixed-schedule program.
You will have the option to add your card to your account when you pay your first invoice (note, BFF and its employees do not have access to your credit card information and are only able to see the last 4 digits of your card at any given time).
All BFF services are prepaid and automatically billed to your credit card on the last business day prior to the month of service. For example, January 2023 walk services would be billed on Friday, December 30th.
What if my pre-scheduled walk falls on a Statutory Holiday or my pup needs to miss a day?
Stat holidays are removed from the schedule prior to invoicing so you do not need to cancel services on upcoming stat holidays and you will never be billed for them.
If your pup misses a day for an unexpected reason and we’re able to fill the spot on short notice we are happy to credit your account with an additional walk, however if a walk is canceled and we’re unable to fill the spot a credit will not be added to the account because we will unfortunately incur the cost of the walk.
The above scenario and current average number of days canceled were considered at length when the new pricing program was created and we’re confident the savings gained from the new program will comfortably off-set the cost of missing a walk from time to time.
What happens when I’m on holiday?
If your pup is on vacation at BFF, you will be credited the value of any missed walks that fall on their vacation days regardless of the number of days or time of year.
We also designed the program to allow for up to 2 weeks (do not need to be consecutive weeks) of missed walks to accommodate vacations in the summer months and 2 additional weeks to accommodate holidays in December. If you’re planning one of these extended vacations we require notification the month prior to ensure we’re able to fill the empty spots in your absence.
